COVID-19 Weekly Update 06/26/2020

Weekly Update- June 26, 2020

During the past week, New York City, including Brooklyn has entered into Phase 2.  For our Nursing Center, it means that all employees, contract staff, medical staff, and the administrator are now being tested for COVID-19 once a week, as compared with twice a week for those working more than three days a week prior to this.  Any staff testing positive must be quarantined for 14 days, and then be tested and have a negative test result before returning to work. The good news is that we have not had any staff test positive during the past week. We also have not had any resident test positive since May. We continue to follow the guidelines of the New York State Department of Health and the Federal Government to attempt to prevent the introduction and transmission of COVID-19 in the Nursing Center. Washing hands frequently, social distancing, and wearing a mask are some of the important interventions to help protect us from this pandemic.   The situation continues to evolve.

There is still no visitation permitted in the Nursing homes except for end-of-life compassionate care. We appreciate your patience during this challenging time, and hope that you will let us help you with alternate means of communication with your loved ones. We will let you know as soon as guidance regarding visitation changes.

Sincerely,

Florence Katz
